Hazal Killims

My best friend Bre had been set on visiting Hazal Kilims while in Istanbul. A close friend had recommended it. On our last afternoon in the city, we hopped on a bus and a train, then wandered our way around Ortaköy. We stumbled across Büyük Mecidiye Mosque along the way, which happens to be one of the most beautiful and well-known mosques. Shopping at Hazal Kilims was a dream. We had so much fun chatting and viewing kilims. After Bre found one, we took a walk around the block to chat it over and collect the funds at an ATM. When we came back, we got a full historical and cultural overview of the kilim. Before heading home, I asked if I could photograph the owner and her shop. This is one of my favorite shots.
