We arrived in Şirince, a village of 600 occupants, right before sundown. I was on a mission to retrace steps I had taken at age 11 to the “view from the church”, but not surprisingly we got pretty lost in the winding and hilly cobbled streets. I grew up visiting Şirince each year when visitors from America would come to see us. Up a mountain near Ephesus, it’s famous for its wine and Greece-like aesthetic. (P.s we did find the church, and you can find a print titled “View from the Church”. #worthit)
